Children’s Ministry

Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel Foundation has a program for kids that is engaging and educational. It begins when children enter the Chapel with their parents and receive a “busy bag” if they are a wee child, or an age-appropriate bulletin for kids ages 3 and up or for those 7 and up. These bulletins are filled with paper and pencil activities for kids to do during the morning service.

Prior to the sermon is a Children’s Message when kids are invited up to the chancel steps to hear a short lesson designed just for them. Sometimes a puppet will give the message, and this is always well-received by everyone.

During the sermon the children ages 5 – 10 are led to their classroom where a teacher and an assistant teach the kids a Bible story. This is generally accompanied by a craft which the kids take home with them the same day. The children return to their parents upon conclusion of the sermon.
This time spent as a church family is both fun and educational. The goal of this program is to teach kids about the love of our Lord.
